The earliest inspiration for Terrapin Arts came from growing up one of 4 siblings in an artistic family. At around age 5, my oldest sister created a club for the 3 sisters. Dubbed the Turtle Club, it was a place to explore nature, art, & crafts, often in combination. We looked up to our sister as a teacher and a model, the one who led the way in all things creative...
One's earliest influences seem to leave the deepest impressions. Through a long, circuitous, and somewhat mysterious process, these buried seeds of memory eventually germinated into a plan for a company that would design products using art images, and create opportunities for artists to license their work, both to our company, and to other manufacturers.
